Environmental Program Educator

BREATHE California of Los Angeles County (BREATHE LA) promotes Clean Air and Healthy Lungs through Research, Education, Technology and Advocacy. BREATHE LA is recruiting an Environmental Program Educator.
The position is responsible for:

• Coordinating program in after-school settings
• Training site facilitators to deliver our 024U™ Program
• Recruiting, training, and facilitating volunteer involvement in program delivery
• Participation in environmental education networks
• Ensuring program evaluation procedures are followed
• Modifying activities based on facilitator, best practices, and student feedback
• Supporting grant efforts

Specific skills:

• Off-site agency after school program delivery/services
• Environmental science education knowledge & enthusiasm
• Knowledge of cutting edge environmental initiatives
• Project management and coordination
• Train the trainer experience
• Knowledge of Los Angeles area after-school program/agency community
• Familiarity with environmental education networks
• Ability to manage volunteers, interns, or support staff
• Non-profit sector work experience

Minimum qualifications: Two-three years of public or environmental health program experience. After school program experience either in volunteer, internship, or staff-level positions. Ability to effectively train after school program facilitators.
