Los Angeles County Releases Key Indicators of Health Report

Los Angeles County Department of Public Health report,  "Key Indicators of Health" illustrates a connection between environment, income levels and health. The report, released June 16th and posted on Department of Public Health Website (and below as a downloadable form) "provides a snapshot of the health and well-being of Los Angeles County residents. It identifies health threats and determines where the county is making progress in improving health.

The report includes data about health-related behaviors; access to medical care, dental care, and health insurance; rates of chronic disease, infectious disease, injury, and related mortality; and LA County residents' perceptions about their own health."

Key data related to BREATHE LA programs include the continued rise in cases of Asthma in children in air-pollution impacted areas of Los Angeles and Emphysema/COPD remaining the 4th leading cause of death in Los Angeles County.
