BREATHE LA Hero Awarded by City of Claremont

BREATHE LA Board Member Anastacio Medina, who was selected as 2008 Hispanic Heritage Local Hero by KCET and Union Bank of California, was also awarded a special "Local Hero" commendation by the City of Claremont in a special presentation in City Council Chambers on October 28, 2008. Mayor Ellen Taylor thanked Medina for his dedication and Medina remarked that he was honored to receive the award and was reminded of the words of his beloved aunt, "if you find yourself in the position to help someone, do it." Medina is a resident of Claremont and continues to actively serve BREATHE LA board and committees, communting to BREATHE LA offices in the Miracle Mile area of Los Angeles. The presentation ceremony was attended by Medina's wife, Esperanza, his daughter and other proud family members.
