BREATHE California of Los Angeles County, BREATHE LA, attended the National Institutes of Health and National Heart, Lung Blood Institute (NHLBI) COPD Learn More Breathe Better® Community Partnership Planning Workshop for State and Local Stakeholders in Bethesda Maryland March 2nd and 3rd2009.

braved snow and ice to join over fifty dedicated professionals gathered from organizations nationwide active in raising awareness of COPD, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, the 4th leading cause of death in the United States.

Attendees set goals through 2011, and pledged to work to continue awareness-raising campaign efforts. BREATHE LA 2008 COPD Public Service Awareness campaign included billboards, ads, radio PSAs, TV and print media coverage, and the launch of our Pulmones Libres Breathe Free program on BREATHE LA COPD AWARENESS DAY declared by the City of Los Angeles on November 14, 2008.
