Lung Cancer in Never-Smokers Tragic but Rare
BREATHE LA has long been a leader in the fight for a smoke free society. No matter how hard we work to protect people from the devastating health effects of tobacco use and second hand smoke, there remain the tragic few who will contract lung cancer and other cancers anyway. Our heart goes out to this young woman, an athlete and a 'never smoker' diagnosed with lung cancer. Her story inspires us to redouble our resolve to raise awareness of the dangers of smoking and of tobacco smoke. Our efforts may not save everyone, and may not reduce the risk of this rare form of cancer that attacks 'never smokers' but we are committed to helping teens avoid tobacco use with 4UNI Teens Helping Teens Quiit Smoking and to our public awareness programs and activism on the dangers of smoking which remains the number one cause of lung cancer.
