Lung Cancer Protection Linked to Fruits, Veggies and Tea : UCLA Study

Eat, drink and breathe!

According to a new UCLA study, eating plenty of fruits and vegetables and drinking tea each day can help protect against lung cancer. Researchers found that both non-smokers and smokers who ate plenty of fruits and vegetables and drank green or black tea daily had a lower risk of developing cancer. Dr. Zuo-Feng Zhang, UCLA Jonsson Cancer Center researcher and professor of public health and epidemiology said of the study, which was published in the journal Cancer, "The findings were especially interesting because tobacco smoking is the major risk factor for lung cancer."
