Pulse of the Port TV Show Casts Port of Long Beach in Starring Role

The September episode of Port of Long Beach's award-winning television program, "Pulse of the Port," is now available for viewing on the Port's web site, Youtube.com and on Long Beach Television Channel 8.

September 2008 "Pulse of the Port" takes a look at the Clean Trucks Program, the first Air Quality Excellence Awards, the much-anticipated Green Port Fest and an import popular to many health-conscious eaters: Olive oil.

"Pulse of the Port" began airing in September 2005 and, since then, has won awards from the American Association of Port Authorities and the California Association of Public Information Officials.

Previous episodes, which are archived at www.polb.com/pulse, featured Hex, a Customs canine trained to sniff out illegal drugs that may be smuggled aboard cargo ships, and the proposed, $750-million Middle Harbor Redevelopment Project

"Pulse of the Port" airs Mondays at 7:30 p.m. and 11 p.m., Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at noon on Long Beach Television Channel 8.

The program was recently launched on Youtube, where the latest episodes can be viewed.
