BREATHE LA announces Pollution & Solutions Salon Series

BREATHE LA Pollution & Solutions Salon Series,
a new and engaging discussion of clean air, the environment and healthy living. Six salons will be held in total, with each one exploring a different issue or aspect of the environment and how it affects residents, consumers, businesses and other stakeholders. A diversity of opinion, leadership, work experience and background is welcomed and all are invited to the salons-as panelists, moderators, responders and/or audience members.

Free and open to the public.

Study Links Air Pollution to Blood Clots

A Harvard School of Public Health Study determined that exposure to particulate matter in air pollution may increase risk of dangerous blood clots in the legs.

Dr. Andrea Baccarelli, who led the study said, "Several studies in animal models and in humans have shown that particulate matter, inhaled into the lungs, causes inflammation in the lungs."
